Hi, my name is Julie Hogarth and I am a Dental Therapist here at Harris and Hoyle.
I initially joined the practice in 1985 (then Cottingham and Hoyle) working as a
Dental Nurse. After 20 years I decided I would like to take my career further which
resulted in graduating from Sheffield University in 2007 as a Dental Therapist.
I am delighted to return to the practice within my new role.

I treat both adults and children within the NHS and Private sectors, providing treatment for early and advanced periodontal conditions, adult restorations, children's restorations, fissure sealants, extractions and preventative treatment.

My approach to dentistry is professional, yet informal and relaxed. Laughter is not an uncommon sound in my surgery.  Personal care is tailored to the specific needs of my patients. My patients are very important to me and it means a lot to me that I can make their treatment as comfortable as possible. Many patients are nervous so time is taken to explain the treatment to them and to let them know that they can stop you at any time.

I treat many children and teenagers which I thoroughly enjoy. The children seem to
enjoy their visits with me which is great. I have 3 children of my own aged 20, 16 and 10 so have a good experience of communication skills, with patients as young as four, to the teenagers who communicate with grunts (all of which I can translate!)

My job is very rewarding. Each day I go home very tired but have the satisfaction that I have contributed to achieve happy healthy smiles, in a relaxed atmosphere. I am proud to be a member of the friendly team here at Harris and Hoyle.
