I was born in Grimsby and spent the first eleven years of my life in the area before
moving to Shropshire.
I qualified at Guy's Hospital and worked at Guys, Brighton and Nottingham in
hospital posts in Oral surgery and Orthodontics. Then came an associate position in a progressive dental practice in Newark where I met Anthony Hoyle.
Anthony and I bought the practice in Grimsby in 1984, we were partners for twenty
years. Julia Harris succeeded me as a partner in 2004 and I now work part time in the practice as an associate.
The success of the practice has been based on developing good and long term
relationships with our patients.  We offer a wide range of treatment in a pleasant
setting, we keep up to date, but in the end success depends on people: our dentists, our support staff and most importantly our patients.
I have always had an interest in dental education, and it has been a joy to me to see practice members developing as the years go by. It was especially gratifying to hand over the practice to Julia who came to us as a new member of the profession in 1995.
For the last ten years I have been involved in training newly qualified dentists in the Lincoln Dental Vocational training scheme. In the practice I have a special interest in straightening teeth (orthodontics).
